      My specialty has increasing numbers of over target patients, even when our demand and capacity is in balance. Why is this?

      It is important to note that specialties can have increasing numbers of over target patients, even when the team is in balance.

      This can be due to a combination of:
      • High variation in demand;
      • Fluctuations in capacity;
      • Booking practices issues; and
      • Casemix complexities (the specialty is in balance but there is a demand/ capacity issue within a subspecialty).
