What do I do to prevent a booked to breach patient from becoming an over-target/long wait?

To find the booked to breach patients, open domains and follow the click path to Outpatients, Waiting List and click on Risks and Projections

There are a few actions that can be taken to prevent a booked to breach patient from becoming a long wait.

1. Review the upcoming appointment schedule prior to their treat by date and look for a suitable appointment to book the patient into. If there are none available, look at the patients that do have an appointment and check that they have not been booked ahead of time. If you see any patients who have been booked early, if clinically safe to do so these patients should be rescheduled to a later date and the appointment given to the patient who is currently scheduled to breach.

2. If there are no vacancies, contact the clinician to seek approval to overbook.

3. Finally, review the patients referral and patient history and check that they are ready for care. If the patient is not ready for the appointment ensure NRFC (not ready for care) dates are added into the referral.
