      AWA is an abbreviation for Awaiting Ward Allocation. This refers to patients that are waiting for confirmation of the inpatient ward where they will be transferred to.

      Awaiting Ward Admission is a patient with a bed request attended and noted by the Bed Manager, however there is no physical bed currently available to transfer out of Emergency Department into.
