Why should I know my booked long waits?
To see how many booked long waits you have, open domains and follow the click path to Surgery, Waiting List and click on Risks & Projections.
While a booked long wait patient is an improvement from an unbooked long wait patient (they have a treatment plan in place), they can easily become unbooked again if their procedure is cancelled (for example, because of bed shortages, an emergency procedure or the patient becomes unwell). It is important to keep an eye on these patients until they receive their operation and try to avoid a hospital initiated cancellation. Also, there is often a requirement to include both booked and unbooked patients in long wait reports.
